Heidi Young
Peer Support Specialist &
Group Co-Facilitator

Heidi is a dedicated Peer Support Provider who brings a wealth of lived experience to her role. As the parent of a neurodivergent teenager and someone who grew up in a family with a range of disabilities, Heidi has a deep understanding of the unique challenges and strengths within the disability community. She recognizes that the well-being and success of individuals with disabilities are closely tied to the support provided by families and caregivers. Helping loved ones navigate a world that is not made for them can be complicated and those who provide care also need support.
Heidi enjoys expanding and caring for her community. She loves learning about the lives of others to support them and meet them where they are. Hard of hearing since the age of 2, she has a basic level understanding of Sign Language and is seeking more ways to expand that knowledge to help not only herself but those around her. She is passionate about learning the best way to communicate with others. She loves spending time with her teenage son, and their two cats, Amour and Moira Rose.
